OKKO · Simple Habits Tracker
Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 26, 2026
OKKO is an iPhone app for tracking daily habits. It lets you create habits, receive reminders, and tap "Done" or "Missed" directly from the lock screen thanks to iOS Live Activities.
This policy explains which data is used by OKKO, why it is needed, and how it is protected.
1. App Publisher
The OKKO app is published by:

For any question related to privacy or to the deletion of your data, you can write to this address.
2. Data Collected
OKKO does not require you to create an account with an email address, a first name, a last name, a phone number, or a profile picture.
However, the app uses certain data that is necessary for it to work:
- the habits you create;
- the name of each habit;
- the reminder time you choose;
- the history of "Done" or "Missed" responses;
- habit-related statistics, such as streaks and records;
- your IANA time zone, in order to schedule reminders correctly;
- technical timestamps;
- an anonymous Firebase identifier;
- a technical Apple token used to start Live Activities on the associated primary iPhone.
Your language preference may be used locally on your device.
OKKO does not knowingly collect your email address, your first name, your last name, your phone number, your profile picture, your GPS location, your contacts, or your health data.
3. Why This Data Is Used
This data is used solely to allow the app to function, and in particular to:
- create and display your habits;
- record your daily responses;
- display your history, calendar, streaks, and records;
- schedule reminders at the time you chose;
- trigger Live Activities on the lock screen;
- sync your data in order to limit data loss in case of a reinstall or a device change;
- ensure the proper technical operation of the app.
OKKO does not use this data for advertising purposes.
4. Local and Cloud Storage
Your habit data is first stored locally on your iPhone.
Some data is also synchronized to the cloud via Firebase Firestore, in order to enable backup and background sync when an Internet connection is available.
OKKO uses the following services:
- Firebase Authentication, in anonymous mode;
- Firebase Firestore, for data backup;
- Firebase Cloud Functions, for certain server-side operations;
- Firebase Cloud Scheduler, for the technical scheduling of reminders;
- Apple Push Notification service, to start Live Activities.
OKKO does not use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Realtime Database, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Apple iCloud, or Apple CloudKit.
5. Anonymous Identifier
OKKO uses an anonymous identifier generated by Firebase Authentication.
This identifier does not contain your name, email, or phone number. It is used solely to associate your habits and progress data with your installation of the app.
A device-related technical document may also be associated with this identifier, in particular to enable Live Activities on the primary iPhone.
6. Notifications and Live Activities
OKKO uses Apple technologies, in particular APNs and Live Activities, to display interactive cards on the lock screen.
These features let you respond to a habit quickly without opening the app.
Reminders working correctly depends on the permissions granted in iOS, in particular for notifications and Live Activities.
7. Technical Logs
Technical logs may be generated on the server side through Firebase Cloud Functions.
These logs may contain information such as:
- the anonymous Firebase identifier;
- the identifier of a habit;
- the identifier of a scheduled task;
- the reminder or scheduling time;
- technical error messages.
These logs are used solely for diagnostics, maintenance, and fixing technical issues.
OKKO does not knowingly store IP addresses in its business data. Some technical information, such as the IP address, may nonetheless be processed automatically by Google Cloud or Apple infrastructure as part of their normal services.
8. Advertising, Tracking, and Analytics
OKKO does not display advertising.
OKKO does not use:
- Apple's IDFA;
- App Tracking Transparency for advertising tracking purposes;
- Firebase Analytics;
- any third-party analytics tool;
- any crash reporting tool such as Crashlytics or Sentry;
- any ad network;
- any marketing partner.
Your data is not sold to third parties.
9. In-App Purchases and Premium
The current version of OKKO does not yet offer any active in-app purchase.
A Premium plan may be added in the future, for example to unlock more than 3 active habits.
If in-app purchases are offered, they will be handled through Apple StoreKit and the App Store. OKKO does not plan to use Stripe or RevenueCat for these purchases.
Apple may then process certain information related to the purchase, in accordance with its own rules and privacy policies.
10. Data Retention
Your data is kept for as long as you use the app or as long as it is needed for the service to function.
When you delete a habit, it is marked as deleted and this deletion is synchronized to the cloud. This does not necessarily mean that every related technical document is immediately erased physically.
If you uninstall the app from your iPhone, the data synchronized to Firebase may remain stored, because uninstalling does not automatically trigger a server-side deletion.
Older technical scheduling tasks may be deleted automatically after 30 days.
11. Data Deletion
OKKO does not yet offer an in-app button to delete all your data from within the application.
You can request the deletion of your data by sending an email to:
Your request will be processed manually within 30 days.
To help process your request, it may be necessary to provide information that identifies the relevant installation, without requiring you to create a named account.
